October 27th, 2009 How To Forgive When You’re Filled With Hatred?
When I first read the story about little Lattie Mcgee, not only was I filled with anger and rage, but I also felt like getting revenge for what his mother Alicia Abraham, and her boyfriend Johnny Campbell had done to him.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth was the way I felt initially…and to think, they did this to a four year old defenseless child! I was ready to inflict pain without mercy. How could anyone do such a terrible thing to a child, and anyone that did do such a thing wasn’t fit to live; so I huffed and I puffed, all the while fighting back the tears.
But what is Jehovah God’s position when it comes to love and forgiveness? Should we put into practice what Jehovah’s “Holy Word” teaches?
