November 11th, 2009 …And Who Really Is Mother Nature? Is She God?
The adoration and adulation that has been given to Mother Nature or Mother Earth is thought to be timeless. Dating back several millenniums people often associated the earth with a female due in part to her reproductive qualities. Goddesses and priestesses were worshiped because of their perceived fertility ability and their believed power to bring about agricultural growth and prosperity.
Today, around the world many still attribute agricultural growth and prosperity to Mother Nature. She is also given credit for the weather (good or bad), reproductive qualities of animals, and the creator of the sun and moon as well. In essence, she is viewed by many as the real life giver of all living things; she is also viewed by some as the creator of the heavens and the earth.
