Fornication and Adultery—What’s The Big Deal Anyway? Is Sex Wrong?

Jehovah God (Yahweh/YHWH) is the creator of heaven and earth and everything within it (Genesis 1:1-31) and He is also the creator of mankind as well (Genesis 1:26). God is the originator of marriage; marriage between a man and a woman. And it is through this union that families come into being, and this union is the basic underlining structure for most communities around the world.

Marriage is sacred and it was hallowed by Jehovah God Himself. It is through this arrangement that husband and wife share with one another; support one another, and rear their offspring together in a loving and caring environment. It was meant to be a life long union that could only be broken by death of one of the spouses.

Marriage was created by God to bring the man and the woman together in a way that would compliment each other. In other words, males and females were purposely made different but their differences would actually make them stronger and enable them to accomplish more if they were united as one in marriage. The differences should be celebrated as oppose to being a reason for discord, dissent, and petty bickering.

Jesus said, “Haven’t you read that at the beginning the creator made them male and female, and said, ‘for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’. So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate”(Matthew 19:4-6). It is God’s will that marriages last a life time without the possibility of separation, and that children be raised in a loving union with both father and mother.

“Why then, they (Pharisees) asked, did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, ‘Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery’ ” (Matthew 19:7-9).

According to the teachings of Jesus, only adultery is grounds for a divorce. Adultery breaks wedlock! The union between husband and wife has been broken and vows that were made before God have been desecrated. What is Adultery? Adultery is sexual intercourse that involves a married person and another person outside of the marriage bond. Whether it’s the husband or wife that has gone outside of the marriage to commit this act, the consequences are the same: the marriage vows are severed and wedlock is broken. The aggrieved spouse can now exist this union without being in violation of God’s commandment.

Adultery is a serious sin before God, that is why the author of the book of Proverbs attaches such a gruesome warning to those who would choose to venture down that path: “My son, pay attention to my wisdom, listen well to my words of insight, that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge. For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave. She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths are crooked, but she knows it not.”

The author went on to say this, “Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say. Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house, lest you give your best strength to others and your years to one who is cruel, lest strangers feast on your wealth and your toil enrich another man’s house. At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent. You will say, ‘How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned correction! I would not obey my teachers or listen to my instructors. I have come to the brink of utter ruin in the midst of the whole assembly’ ” (Proverbs 5:1-14).

To leave the confines of a marriage for sexual gratifications will surely bring about spiritual death and in many cases physical death (over time) as well, unless the adulterer repent and seek forgiveness from Jehovah God Almighty, who is the only one that really knows the heart of an adulterer. Having sexual relations with your spouse is not adultery, it is not a sin; in fact, it is a gift from Jehovah God for a man and woman to share with each other but only in wedlock.

God ordained and approved sexual relations between married couples—a man and woman. It is a precious gift from Him to us to share with each other (husband and wife). It is a loving arrangement that is given to us to help bring us even closer; more intimate, more personal with one another. And it is through sexual relationships that children are born and families are made. Sex was meant to be an expression of love that would bring forth life as well. Yes, sex is Jehovah’s gift to the marriage…and it was Him who said ‘be fruitful and multiply…’(Genesis 1:22).

So what is fornication you might ask: fornication is sexual intercourse between unmarried people. This too is a grievous sin before Jehovah God; it violates God’s law. Fornication is sexual immorality and it is a sin that leads to death. We are warned to stay clear of it. Apostle Paul wrote concerning this,”See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as an oldest son” (Hebrews 12:16). And Jesus said, “For out of the heart comes evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man ‘unclean’; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean” (Matthew 15:19,20).

If you are single and unmarried, in order to please God you must stay away from fornication and avoid any type of sexual immorality altogether. Apostle John wrote in the book of Revelation, “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

Apostle John went on to say, “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood” (Revelation 22:14,15).

Sexual immorality—fornication, sexual perversion of all kinds, and adultery, can lead to everlasting destruction, and being permanently cut off from Jehovah’s loving kindness and His graciousness. Apostle Paul wrote, “The night (end of the world) is nearly over; the day (new heaven and earth) is almost here. So let us put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature” (Romans 13:12-14).

When the Great “I AM (Jehovah/Yahweh/YHWH)”, called out Moses to lead His people into the promised land; before they were to enter He gave Moses the ‘Ten Commandments’ for the Israelites to abide by. One of those commandments clearly stated: ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery’ (Deuteronomy 5:18). That commandment is still in effect to this very day and if we choose not to abide by it we are in direct violation of the law of God. Again, in order to please God we must bring our lives in line with His commandments, statues, precepts, and teachings. To do otherwise is simply pure foolishness that will lead to a tragic and sad ending.

If you feel that you are locked into fornication/adultery, there is a way out. When you continually submit to this kind of sin you can be sure that there is a spiritual force behind it all. Yes, it is true you are responsible for your own actions, but it is also true that you are under heavy influence from forces that you cannot discern with the natural senses.

There are demonic spirits that have a strong pull on you to help keep you locked in darkness with chains and bonds that you cannot see or feel and they will never, ever release you—never on their own.

But glory be to Jehovah God who sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the whole world (John 3:16). Jesus is the answer to all our problems. Jesus broke all satanic strongholds when he gave His life for us on the cross, becoming the “Sacrificial Lamb” whose blood washes our sins away. Hallelujah!

There is no power on earth or under the earth that is greater than the power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and Jehovah God Almighty. No demon, small or great, has any power over our God Jehovah or Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What this means is that we don’t have to live under the influence of demonic powers—unless we choose to do so. And my friend that is a very dangerous choice that many have chosen to make (Mark 5:1-20).

In conclusion, sexual intercourse between married couples was ordained by our creator, Jehovah God. It was and is His desire that we enjoy intimate acts of love and sharing, as well as procreating. However, sexual intercourse was designed to take place between a man and a woman who was joined together in “Holy Matrimony”. When sexual intercourse happens outside the confines of the marriage, then it becomes fornication, or adultery. It just depends on the status of the individuals that are engaging in it. If one of them is married to someone else, then it becomes adultery; if both parties are single, than it is fornication.

But make no mistake about it fornication and/or adultery is wrong and it is a sin in God’s eyesight. Both will lead to eternal damnation as stated in the above paragraphs. These are sins that surely will lead to death spiritually and in many cases physically as well. (1John 5:16-20).

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and He can lead you out of darkness into the light if you pick up your cross and follow Him (John 14:6). Jesus said, “The thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy: I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Through His sacrificial death on the cross Jesus set us free from all demonic strongholds and you can be sure that fornication/adultery are strongholds that have bound and gagged many men and women since antiquity. But Jesus has set us free from all of that and we are indeed free to shake off any and all chains that have held us in captivity for so long. We are free in Christ—Hallelujah!

Please pray with me: Holy Father, I pray for the abolition of any and all people that are under demonic strongholds that keep them shackled and bound in fornication and adultery and all other sexual sins. Father, I pray tonight that you will brake those demonic spiritual chains and fetters that Satan has bound your sons and daughters with. Oh, Holy Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour we pray. Amen.

If you have not already accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, why not do so tonight—right now! Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty Jehovah God creator of heaven and earth and everything that’s in it. Please wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb—Jesus Christ. Father, I confess all of my sins and I ask for forgiveness in Jesus’ name. Holy Father, forgive me for all the wrong I have done and all the sins I have committed against you and only you Father. Have mercy on my soul and deliver me from these chains that the kingdom of darkness has bound me with all these years. I commit my life to you Father, in Jesus name I pray amen. Hallelujah!

The word of God assures us that if we confess with our mouth and believe with our heart that Jesus was raised from the dead, we shall be saved (Romans 10:9). And elsewhere the scriptures tells us that when one sinner repents and is saved, even the angels in heaven rejoice. Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah God (Luke 15:7). Now you must pick up your cross and follow Jesus; in other words, study the bible and pray without ceasing, and ask God to give you His “Holy Spirit” to guide you and lead you in your new walk with Jesus. And we will continue to pray for you and your new found salvation each and every day and we kindly ask that you will do the same for us.

If you once followed Jesus Christ but turned back to follow Satan, please reconsider and don’t delay. Jesus is always standing at the door of your heart waiting patiently for you to ask Him back into your life. His love for you is just as real and strong today as it was when you first received Him after baptism. All you need to do is repent and go in prayer and ask for forgiveness for all your sins and backsliding.

Don’t allow Satan to continue blocking your spiritual path to returning to your Lord and Saviour today, for tomorrow might very well be too late. In your own words bow down in the name of Jesus and ask the Father for forgiveness and He is faithful and just to forgive you. We all fall so very short of God’s glory and we are all guilty of bringing shame and reproach upon God through our disobedience (willful sinning) and stubborn ways. But Jehovah God is so merciful and longsuffering towards all His children, and it is His desire that we all receive eternal salvation. Hallelujah! So don’t remain discouraged and fill with dissolution because God is so gracious and understanding. Amen.

Please pray with me: Holy Father, I bow down as humbly as I know to do, asking for forgiveness for all the sins and transgressions I knowingly and willingly committed after receiving and confessing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Have mercy upon my soul, and wash me again in the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ). Cleanse me of all unrighteousness and ungodliness, and create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and amen.

May the Great God Jehovah, creator of heaven and earth and everything that exist keep you and bless you with each passing day. We pray for each and every one of you to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today! Tomorrow may very well be too late. Amen.

Note: Please understand that over time new revelations are given to me to pass on to all that take the time to read the articles/sermons that I post. Therefore, I believe it is imperative that I share these revelations to all who will listen.

In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.

The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
