November 18th, 2009 Jehovah (Yahweh) God, The One True God—Creator Of Heaven and Earth
Long before there was a beginning, and long before the creation of heaven and earth— Jehovah God (Yahweh) has existed. In fact, He has never not existed: from eternity to eternity, from everlasting to everlasting; this description of Jehovah’s existence is about as humanly close as we can possibly come in describing His immortality. His existence is really beyond man’s comprehension (1Corinthian 3:19). In our attempt to analyze, calculate, quantify, and measure the unknowable origin of Jehovah God—it is just pure foolishness.
Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, was known as “Yahweh” (the tetragrammaton-YHWH) in times past. Moses said to God, “Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them”? And God said unto Moses, “I AM That I AM” (Yahweh?YHWH): and He said, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM (Yahweh) hath sent me unto you” (Exodus 3:13,14).
The Hebrew word Yahweh has been transliterated into the English word “Jehovah”. The Great God Yahweh, God of the Hebrews (Abraham, Issac, and Jacob) is rendered Jehovah in the English language. The Great God Jehovah is the same God Yahweh that was worshiped by the patriarchs Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, along with Moses and millions and millions of Hebrews (Israelites/Jews) throughout the millenniums.
In the beginning Jehovah God created the heavens and the earth…the earth has a creator, a master craftsman that is responsible for all the beauty and majesty that surrounds us. The entire universe is His creation and His alone, however, through His loving kindness He allowed His Son Jesus Christ (Yeshua) to participate in not only everything that was created (Colossians 1:15-19).but in the creation of Adam and Eve as well, and God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every thing that creepeth upon the earth”(Genesis 1:26).
Jehovah is a loving and tenderhearted God that truly loves His crown of creation—mankind. From the very start it was—and is, God’s desire for man to have a close and personal relationship with Him. It was never His intentions that man be isolated and separated from Him. But Jehovah is a holy and righteous God that hates sin and does not tolerate it in any way. Jehovah God is pure and spiritually clean in every sense of the word, and His expectations for man was for them to be obedient to Him, thereby remaining holy and pure themselves.
Before the creation of man, Jehovah created the angelic creatures, who are higher in order (creation) than man, but lower than God. There was one, Lucifer, who became covetous and wanted to be worshiped as God (Isaiah 14:12-15). Although he has been described as beautiful and smart he became arrogant and filled with pride, so much so, until he became Jehovah God’s chief adversary (Ezekiel 29:13-17).
“Now the serpent (Satan the devil) was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord (Jehovah) God had made. And he said unto the woman (Eve), ‘Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of the fruit of the garden’ ? And the woman said unto the serpent, ‘ we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: but of the fruit of tree which is in the midst of the garden God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.’ And the serpent said to the woman, ‘Ye shall not surely die: for God know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.’ And when she saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband (Adam) with her; and he did eat” (Genesis 3:1-7)
After Satan (formerly Lucifer, the morning star) persuaded Adam and Eve to sin against God by deliberately defying His commandment not to eat of the tree of knowledge; death entered into the world (Genesis 1:17). Not only was Adam and Eve faced with a death sentence, but they were disfellowshipped from Jehovah God (Yahweh) and suffered spiritual death as well as a pending physical death. In addition to all of this they were forced out of the garden of Eden (Genesis 4:24).
Satan ( the definition of the name Satan means adversary/slanderer/accuser) successfully brought about a tragic revolt that brought about death for both Adam and Eve and all of their future offspring; also, through deceit Satan was able to disrupt God’s master plan and sever the relationship between Jehovah and the crown of His creation—mankind. But all was not completely lost, Jehovah instantly made a way for fallen man to be restored, redeemed, and receive salvation (Genesis 3:15).
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Jehovah God, at the appointed time sent His Son into the world, born of a woman (Mary), to become the sacrificial lamb whose blood takes away the sins of the world (Mark 14:24). Jesus Christ came down from heaven to take away the sins of the world. Through His death on the cross, we—all of mankind, received the free gift of salvation through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is the precious blood of Jesus Christ that atones for our sins. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, and that He did on the cross.
Mankind severed relationship with Jehovah God had been restored. Through Adam sin entered into the world, bringing death and separation from Jehovah God; through Jesus Christ came redemption and restoration. To all who choose to avail themselves of this blessed free gift that Jehovah has lovingly extended to all of mankind through His Son Jesus Christ—the door is wide open (John 14:6). For there is no other name under heaven by which men can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Salvation came through one man, and one man only, Jesus Christ. Because of His redemptive work on the cross no one has to stay bound and chained by the prince of evil. No one has to be subjected to satanic domination any longer; Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 8:26-38). Although it’s true that through Satan sin entered the world and brought about death for mankind; through Jesus Christ came salvation and the prospect for eternal life. Through His death on the cross Jesus saved the world, and through His resurrection from the grave on the third day He justified our faith (Galatians 2:16).
After His death on the cross, and His resurrection from the grave, Jesus work of attaining salvation for the world had been completed, after which, He returned to where He originally came from (Luke 24:50). Now Jesus is at the right hand throne of the Father—Jehovah God, interceding on our behalf. He is our eternal high priest that will never die again, who is going to return triumphantly to earth to war against His enemies (Satan and those that follow him) and to receive His own (1Thessalonians 4:1-18).
Today, if you haven’t received Jesus Christ into your heart as your saviour and redeemer, please consider doing so—right now! For the time is urgent, and the return of Christ draws nearer with each passing day. If you’re a sinner living outside of Jehovah’s will, why not allow today to become the day you receive salvation, and be delivered from the kingdom of darkness. Jesus Christ gave His life for all us sinners and the door is still open for all to come (Revelation 22:17).
With repentance and confession, you can receive Christ into your heart today—right now. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jehovah God has raised Him from the dead and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). And receive the precious gift, “Holy Spirit,” that Jesus said He would send after His departure (John 14:26).
In closing, remember, Jesus is love, He paved the way for sinful man to reunite with our creator—Jehovah God, through the restoration and redemption work that Jesus completed on the cross. As a faithful and merciful high priest that goes before the Father on our behalf; Jesus lovingly and graciously mediates between Jehovah God and sinful man, but because of Jesus redemptive work we are covered with the precious blood of the lamb, and that’s what God sees when He looks on us. Jehovah no longer sees our sins, instead, He sees the precious blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for all sinners that faithful Friday on Calvary Hill when Jesus was crucified on the cross.
May our everlasting Father, Jehovah God, creator of heaven and earth and everything else, bless you and keep you until we meet again. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray for your salvation. Amen and amen.
