April 18th, 2010 Throughout the millenniums, even before the creation of heaven and earth; before time was recorded–false worship has existed. The creator of all that is and ever was is the great and awe-inspiring “I Am” (Jehovah/Yahweh). There is no other before Him and because of Him everything that exist—He created. From everlasting to everlasting; from eternity to eternity, without beginning and without ending (Psalms 41:13; 93:2), Jehovah has existed.
He is the one true God above all and before all. However, through His love He brought forth living beings and the first born of all His creation was His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:20). Long before Jesus Christ (the Son of God) came into the world (that was yet to be created at this point) He existed in the heaven with His Father, Jehovah, and because of Jehovah’s loving kindness He not only gave His Son life but He allowed Him to share in His Creation (Genesis 1:26).
Before the creation of man Jehovah God created the angels. They are spirit creatures that are higher in dignity than man with far greater power, intelligence, strength, and knowledge. In fact, in every way they are superior to man and they are not bound by physical laws that man is subjected to, for example: gravity, matter, space, mass, material, and even time is irrevelvant when it comes to the angels.
Although they are spirit creatures they have often appeared in human body form to speak with; consult; direct, and inform God’s people what Jehovah has decreed but there have been some occasions when they also spoke with God’s enemies (Numbers 22:32-35).
Jehovah’s holy angels constitute a great innumerable company (Revelation 5:11) that do not marry and they do not die. It’s true that they are far superior in knowledge and intelligence than man and they also have a limited ability to foresee future events, but Jehovah himself is omnipotent (unlimited power), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipresent (being in all places at the same time).
The angels were created beings with the capacity to know good and evil, and exist as free will moral agents. They were not created automatons that didn’t have a choice in their thinking; instead, they were autonomously created to think and act as they chose to do.The great angelic beings that comprise a vast company worship Jehovah day and night and they carry out all of His instructions lovingly.
They are a highly organized army that stands before the presence of Jehovah (Matthew 18:10, Revelation 5:11, Hebrew 1:6).They protect, guide, inform, and even have been known to provide a meal and water for Jehovah’s servants (1Kings 19:5-8; Matthew 1:19,20; Matthew 19:26-37;Judges13:2-18;Revelation 22:8-11). As stated, they are a highly organized army that have positions, endowments, and rank: Cherubim, Seraphs, and the rest of the angelic host.
But above and beyond all the angels stand one and only one—Micheal the arch angel. The name Micheal means He who is like God! He is chief in command (second only to Jehovah) of all the angelic host. We are only given the names of two of the angelic creatures—Micheal (Jude 9), and Gabriel (Luke 1:26), but there is no place in the holy scriptures we are told that there are more than one arch angel.
At some point in time (the bible does not say), one of the holy angels that Jehovah had created began to rebel against Jehovah’s authority. He wanted the kind of worship that belonged to Jehovah and Jehovah alone. Remember, all the angels were created autonomously so they had the capacity to rebel against Jehovah anytime they chose to…and many (beyond count) chose to rebel against Jehovah and follow Lucifer.
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High’. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” (Isaiah 14:12-15).
Lucifer willingly chose to follow a rebellious course that would eventually lead to his being cast out from the presence of Jehovah. His heart (metaphorically speaking) was set on being worshiped as a God and his master plan was to usurp true worship from Jehovah and have all the angels to stand in his presence and worship him only.
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God: every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: that wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee, before kings, that they may behold thee” (Ezekiel 28:13-17).
Because of pride and arrogance, Lucifer wanted to be worshiped as a God; he sought to take over Jehovah’s throne through out and out rebellion. He was not content to be a high ranking cherub that was more beautiful than all his fellows; instead, he chose to be exalted as the Most High God…and he still does to this very day!
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…, and after the creation of the heaven and the earth, and everything else that He created; God created man (Genesis 1:1-31). At some point Lucifer ( morning star), whose name was changed to Satan (adversary/slanderer/accuser) after iniquity was found within him is still known by that name today.
Satan desire to be worshiped was not relegated to heaven and the angelic creatures, but after the creation of Adam and Eve, Satan strategically planned the time and manner in which he would successfully lead the two to sin against Jehovah by deliberately rebelling against His command.
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman (Eve), Yea, hath God said, ‘Ye shall not eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden’ ? And the woman said unto the serpent (Satan in disguise)’We may eat of the fruit of the tress of the garden: But the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die’.
And the serpent said unto the woman, ‘Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil’. And when the woman saw that the tree tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband (Adam) with her: and he did eat” (Genesis 3:1-6).
It was Satan who was responsible for leading Adam and Eve in rebellion against their creator and heavenly Father, Jehovah God.It was Satan who accused Jehovah of lying to Adam and Eve about the tree of knowledge, and it was Satan who mislead them into thinking that somehow they could live independently of Jehovah God and be their own God.
Satan had successfully brought about man’s rebellion against Jehovah God, their creator. He also had helped bring about their death—both spiritually and physically. Sin now separated man from their God; Adam no longer shared a close and personal relationship with his heavenly Father and creator; instead, he was driven out of the garden of Eden and permanently banished from ever entering it again Genesis 3:24), but far worse than that; Adam had severed his ties with Jehovah God, and through his disobedience to Jehovah he brought death and suffering into the world.
All of Adam and Eve offspring would suffer the tragic consequences that was brought about by the rebellious course they took when they listen to the serpent (Satan the devil) and accepted his word as truth as opposed to their creator and Father—Jehovah God. But Jehovah God is a merciful and loving God (1John 4:8) that immediately made plans for man’s salvation (Genesis 3:15).
Although man was now condemned to die through the actions of Adam and Eve, Jehovah would make salvation available to everyone through His Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16). At the appointed time Jehovah God would send His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) into the world to become the sacrificial Lamb whose blood would take away the sins of the world.
It would be Jesus Christ redemptive work on the cross that would free all men from satanic bondage that held us in captivity to the devil. It would be the blood of Jesus that would break all evil chains that have bound us and kept us shackled in darkness; alienated from Jehovah God through our sinful nature.
Satan has sought with every ounce of strength in his being to lead all men away from worshiping Jehovah God in spirit and in truth through lies, deceit, trickery, and abominable doctrines that teach men to worship false gods and goddesses that are really not gods and goddesses at all.
Satan tries desperately to lead the whole world into spiritual (false worship) darkness. He (Satan) has passed on eternal lies as truth and enlightenment; his goal is to be worshiped through these many gods and goddesses without the people of the world having the knowledge that he is actually the driving force behind them.
Since man’s rebellion and subsequent separation from Jehovah God he (Satan) has led man into false worship through creating gods and goddesses and even empowering them with certain abilities to further deceive and blind the eyes of the world (Revelation 13:1-18). Although there are millions and millions of gods and goddesses worshiped today around the world, they all lead back to one central figure—Satan the devil.
It is his eternal desire to lead true worship away from Jehovah and have all of mankind worship him—in one way or the other. From the beginning of his revolt against Jehovah he has never ceased to lead Jehovah’s creation (angels and man) into worshiping him, and him alone.
Whether it’s Mother Nature; Mary, Queen of Heaven; Astarte; Ashtoreth; Shekhinah; Diana; Isis; Tara; Baal; Dagon; Mother Earth; Allah, or any of the millions and millions of so-called gods and goddesses that have been worshiped in the past and are still being worshiped today–Satan is the one source that they all have in common. He is the creator and master architect of false worship and he has no problem disguising himself in various forms to keep people ignorant of his true identity and plans.
This is the arch enemy (Satan) of Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, the saints, and all of mankind who are made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26), he hates Jehovah God and all of God’s creation. Satan has never been a friend of mankind.
He is the author of sickness and death that plagues the world; suffering and disease was brought about through him. Wars, pestilences, diseases, pandemics, starvation, hunger, murder, suicide, destruction, and all that is bad is directly connected to him and him alone.
He (Satan) accuses mankind to Jehovah God day and night (Revelation 12:10). Through Satan came death and destruction; through Jesus Christ came redemption, salvation, and atonement (Colossians 1:14; Acts 4:12; Hebrews 2:17).
Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone bought and paid for our sins when He died on the cross; He rose on the third day from the grave for the justification of our faith. Jesus ascended into heaven from which He came, after He completed the work on the cross.
Now Jesus Christ is a faithful and merciful high priest that intercedes for mankind before Jehovah God (Hebrew 8:1;6). Yes, through Adam, sin and death entered into the world, but through Jesus Christ, salvation, redemption, and atonement was restored to Jehovah’s people. Hallelujah! Praise God!
Today, if you haven’t received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please consider doing so right now. The time is well spent ( as the world slowly draws to a conclusion) and tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. Jesus Christ is standing at the door of your heart waiting for you to invite Him into your life. Jesus laid down His life so that we could receive salvation, and this He did so lovingly until it would be a shame for anyone to neglect so great a gift as this.
Wherever you are, whomever you are, salvation is just a prayer away. All you have to do is confess your sins and believe in your heart that Jehovah God raised His Son Jesus Christ from the dead and you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). Ask Jesus Christ into your life and give your life to Him. Don’t allow Satan to reign master and lord over you forever. Today, you can have that yolk broken and you can be set free from the devil’s (Satan) stronghold that he has on you…and the whole world as well.
Read your bible and ask Jehovah God through His Son Jesus Christ (our saviour) to give you His “Holy Spirit” (Luke 24:48). The Holy Spirit will guide you and lead you into an accurate understanding of Jehovah’s holy word and will (John 14:26).
In closing, since Satan’s rebellious course he has attempted to seduce the whole world from the creation of Adam and Eve to present day man with lies and deceit. Through false doctrines he has created false gods and goddesses that have deceived practically all of mankind—but not quite. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me (John 14:6).
Jesus Christ is the path that leads all of mankind out of darkness into the light. In order to avoid following doctrine of demons (1Timothy 4:1), embrace the truth—Jesus Christ is truth (John 1:14).
May Jehovah God (Yahweh/YHWH),the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, receive you and keep you until the coming of His blessed Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour; on that wonderful and blessed day (1Thessolians 4:18) Amen.
