Receiving Your Inheritance: The True Gift That Jehovah God Freely Gives to His People

Trust, being obedient, and having faith in the word and will of Jehovah (Yahweh) God has meant blessings for His people since God first carved out a people for Himself (Leviticus 20:22-24). Being self willed and egotistical can, and often will bring about horrific consequences that might prove to be unbearable to live with (Leviticus 26:1-46).

We as a people; Jehovah God’s people, must always remember who we are and who we belong to. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth should receive eternal life” John 3:16.

When we sin against Jehovah God we have an eternal Saviour in Jesus Christ that intercedes on our behalf when we sincerely repent of our wrong doing. It is the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) that washes our sins away–each and every one of them!

By walking upright and living a holy life before God and man, we can receive our true inheritance that no one can ever take away. Through Jesus Christ came salvation–the true inheritance that comes from Almighty, Jehovah God.

It’s not uncommon to see people aimlessly meandering down the road of life without a direction known, and it’s not so uncommon to see people who defiantly oppose the word and will of God with every breath they take. It’s no wonder that the world is in such a terrible way when you think about the fact that so many people have chosen to be their own God and follow their own selfish inclinations.

Choosing to oppose the word and will of Jehovah God is tantamount to self destruction; in fact, the real truth is that when you willfully refuse to accept the Son of God (Jesus Christ) as your Lord and Saviour you unknowingly/knowingly accept Satan as your God. In the world we live in there are only two kinds of spirit: Holy Spirit, that comes from above, and the spirit of darkness that emanates from Satan the devil (Ephesians 2:1,2).

No human being will ever be left in a state of limbo without the indwelling of the “Holy Spirit” which God so lovingly gives through His Son Jesus Christ (John 14:15-18), or the spirit of darkness which Satan uses to lead all of mankind into everlasting damnation through disobedience to Jehovah God (John 3:19). That is why it is so important for all mankind to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and arm themselves with the power that comes from above and gives light that shines into the darkness and reveal all (1Peter 2:9).

Parents, grandparents, guardians, relatives, friends, and sometimes even strangers will leave an inheritance to whom they choose to leave it to. In many cases love ones will go out of their way to ensure that they leave an inheritance to whom they have chosen. In the book of Proverbs it speaks of a good man leaving an inheritance to not only his children but his grandchildren as well (Proverbs 13:22).

It is truly a befitting way to past on assets after death to someone or some entity (church, organization, charity, etc.) that in all probability will help them financially and possibly in many other ways too. An inheritance received can oftentimes make the difference between financial solvency or financial insolvency for so many benefactors. In many cases property inherited has meant the difference between some families being homeless or having a roof over their heads. And unfortunately, for some, their inheritance turned into a nightmare.

But you can be sure of one thing and that is “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17). When Jehovah God gives an inheritance to one of His children there is no trouble that follows; unlike Satan, who will always follow up any gifts given; any requests granted, and all prayers answered with misery, suffering, trouble, and everything else that’s bad. Satan is just the opposite of Jehovah God in every way (Psalms 16:6).

Throughout the old testament (Holy Bible) Jehovah God spoke of an inheritance for His people that for the most part consisted of rich land that flowed with milk and honey (Leviticus 20:24) as well as other physical blessings such as food, shelter, rain, and protection and victory over their enemies (Deuteronomy 9:1-32). It was a great inheritance that God gave to His people as they entered the “Promise Land”–Canaan). Although this was truly a blessing that God’s people experienced and enjoyed; yet, God had something much better for all His people who were to come much later–the blessing was, and is, the Son of God–Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

Yes, receiving an inheritance can be quite gratifying and an answer to your prayers, but there is an inheritance that is far greater than material things and its worth is unparalleled and cannot be measured in terms of monetary value. Parents, grandparents, guardians, friends, and strangers have bequeathed their wealth to others with the intentions of helping as much as possible. And for many such an inheritance can make the difference between staying afloat and going under in these desperate economic times we are enduring these days.

However, the truth is that no matter how well intention these gracious gifts are they fall so very short of the true inheritance that Jehovah God gives to all who would accept His Son Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. Jesus Christ came down from heaven and took on the form of man to become the “Sacrificial Lamb” whose blood would cleanse us from all our sins (John 1:29).

Through Jesus Chris redemptive work on the cross we have an inheritance from Jehovah God that no one can ever take away. The inheritance that Jehovah God gives is everlasting and eternal, and is forever blessed. Praise God! And this inheritance is completely free! That’s right. You don’t need to be born into a rich family, nor do you need someone to donate anything to you at all.

You see, Jesus Christ has already paid the price for our salvation through His death on the cross. Jesus’ death on Calvary Hill was a sacrifice for the whole world…if we accept it. I do. Do you? The righteous dying for the unrighteous and at no cost to us. It was Jehovah God’s love for mankind (Genesis 3:15) that led Him to send His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to become the “Sacrificial Lamb” that would take away the sins of the world (Romans 3:22-26).

In closing, we all have a true inheritance from our heavenly Father that can never be corrupted or perish (1Peter 1:4). Jesus Christ willingly accepted the role of becoming the Sacrificial Lamb for the whole world, even though He knew the suffering and agonizing death that awaited Him. And He also knew that even though He was giving His life for the world; the world by and large would still reject Him.

However, Jesus did not allow this to deter Him from what was in His heart–love; love for all of mankind (John 15:13). Jesus love for mankind was and is so strong until He continually intercedes on our behalf as our eternal high priest that is at the right hand throne of the Father (Hebrews 7:22-28; 8:1-13). The free gift of salvation is just a sincere prayer away. In Jesus name salvation and redemption can be received–right now! There is no need to continue in darkness, blinded, and alienated from God because of a sinful lifestyle.

Jesus Christ died on the cross for the removal of our sins; in other words, His death atoned for our sins–mine and yours. Why neglect such a wonderful gift that has been so lovingly provided by Jehovah God through His Son Jesus Christ? Why continue to subject yourself to demonic control when freedom in Jesus Christ is available right now?

Please pray with me: Almighty Jehovah God, in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who died on Calvary Hill for the remission of our sins; I come to you in prayer as humbly as I know how to come, to ask for your forgiveness for the sins and transgressions that I have committed throughout my life. Holy Father, wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and cleanse me of all wickedness and unrighteousness that I have done. Create in me a clean heart and give me your “Holy Spirit” Father. I submit wholeheartedly and I give my life to Christ this day forward. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

The “Holy Bible” tells us that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead we will be saved (Romans 10:9). Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah! You are saved! Now you must proceed to do what God has called you out to do. And through prayer the “Holy Spirit” will direct you and instruct you so that you can begin to bring forth good fruit in Jesus’ name (Matthew 7: 16,17).

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please consider doing so today–right now. Jesus is a loving and gracious saviour that waits patiently at the door of your heart for you to invite Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour. He does not force Himself upon anyone; yet, he is always ready and willing to accept you as His own; all you have to do is ask Him to.

Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty Jehovah God, creator of heaven and earth and all that is within it, I bow down as humbly as I know how to ask for forgiveness for the sins and transgressions that I have committed in my life. Have mercy on my soul and deliver me from the clutches of hell and the power of darkness that have held me in captivity all my life. I repent of all my sins and transgressions, and I ask that your Son, Jesus Christ come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour forever.

Wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and cleanse me of all my sins and transgressions. Give me your Holy Spirit to guide and lead me into doing your will. Amen.

The Holy Bible reassures us that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead we shall be saved (Romans 10:9). Hallelujah! Praise God Almighty. Now go forth as a new person in Christ Jesus. You are saved! Study the word of God every single day and pray that His Holy Spirit will give you understanding when you read and study the word of God. Fail not to give testimony to others about your newly found salvation in Christ.

If you have received Jesus Christ in the past but returned to follow Satan, please accept this invitation to return to your Lord and Saviour today before it is too late. It is a terrible thing to crucify Jesus Christ all over again through wicked and evil practices, after professing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour (Hebrews 10:31).

Please pray with me: Holy Father, in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I repent of all the sins and transgression that I have committed after receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, only to turn back to follow Satan the devil. Father God, have mercy upon my soul and deliver me from the powers of darkness that have held me in captivity. Wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ), and cleanse me of all wrongdoings. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.

I recommit my life to Jesus Christ and I pick up my cross to follow my Lord and Saviour all over again. Thank you Father God for being so merciful and forgiving toward me a wretched sinner that have done abominable things before God. Thank you Father God for your undeserved kindness.

Until we meet again may the one true God Jehovah and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ keep you safely and bless you in all the ways you truly need. Amen and amen.

This sermon/lesson copyright (c) 2012 by Donald Thomas can be used by all religious bodies and individuals who believe and call upon the name of our God Jehovah, and His Son Jesus Christ for the spreading of the Gospel worldwide. This body of work must be presented in its entirety without exception. No excerpts can be taken out of this work without the written consent of the author.

Note: Please understand that over time new revelations are given to me to pass on to all that take the time to read the articles/sermons that I post. Therefore, I believe it is imperative that I share these revelations to all who will listen.

In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.

The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
