Who Is The One True God? What Is His Name?

“That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth” (Psalm 83;18). Sadly to say, throughout the bible the name of God has been replaced with the word “LORD”. There are many, many people in the world who have never heard of the one true God name nor do they recognize it in print. For sure the name Jehovah is an English rendering of the Hebrew word, Yahweh, or the ancient Hebrew rendering of the word “Yahawa”.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the patriarchs of the Israelites was and is Jehovah. He is the creator of the world and everything else as well. There is no other true God beside Jehovah/Yahweh. There are many false gods that are worshiped but they are not gods at all, only false representations of the one true god that was, and is, and will always be; from everlasting to everlasting, and from eternity to eternity, without a beginning and without an ending (Psalm 41:13). We owe our existence to the one true God; Jehovah, who is the creator of all life and giver of all good gifts. If you take a moment and look around you, starting with the beautiful landscape; heaven, seas, mountains, trees, and all the beautiful flowers that grow in their season. How could you not acknowledge the Jehovah God, the creator of the whole world and everything within it?

When a child is conceived no one understands how he/she is formed in the womb. No one. There are very intelligent men who have sought to find out how a baby is formed in the womb and no one fully understands to this day. No one has been able to explain what all take place in the development of a fetus. It is simply amazing and truly unknowable how we are created, but it is no mystery about who created us.

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over earth, and over all the creatures that move along the grounds’ ” (Genesis 1:26). If you believe in the “Holy Scriptures” then it is no doubt in your mind that God created man in his own image and likeness.
