August 22nd, 2010 A Tree and Its Fruit: Watching The Things We Do As Servants Of Christ
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?”
Jesus went on to say, “Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them” (Matthew 7:15-20).
When you think of false prophets you might not think of yourself, but after receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and confessing Him publicly only to turn around and follow Satan the devil you do no less. False prophets claim to belong to Jesus Christ and they continually confess Him as their Lord and Saviour vigorously.
However, their actions prove false to the claims they make. Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). Arrogance, haughtiness, pride, and insolence are just a few of the characteristics of a false prophet. Jesus went on to say, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God,” (Matthew 5:9).
As Christians we cannot rage and rant at others and expect not to bring reproach on our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Christians are earthly representatives of Christ and when we give in to the desires of the flesh we bring reproach on Jehovah God our creator and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who died on the cross for the remissions of our sins (Romans 5: 8-11).
Apostle Paul stated, “In your anger do not sin”; Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:26). In order for us to be pleasing to Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ we must become “peacemakers”. We cannot afford to allow our anger to run wild (Proverbs 29:11), ‘ for a man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires’ according to James, the author of the book of James in the “Holy Bible” (James 1:20).
As Christians we must cultivate the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (Galatians 5:22,23). In order for us to walk in a Christian way we must abandon anger and seek to emulate Christ in every way. Jesus Christ set the example for all Christians when He walked the earth over two thousand years ago; he preached love and forgiveness and He practiced it as well.
Today, as Christians we must do our very best to follow Jesus’ examples if we are to be His true disciples. We mustn’t live a life of inconsistencies when it comes to following Jesus. As earthly representatives of Christ we must not continue to bring reproach upon Him because we refuse to ‘practice what we preach’. Our goal each and every day should be to strive to be more “Christ-like” in the manner in which we live our lives.
Giving in to seducing spirits is not hard to do at all, picking up your cross and following Jesus can be challenging to say the least. Why? Because although the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41). That is why it is so important that we pray without ceasing (1Thessaloanians 5:17). It is a natural inclination for all men to sin and to do that which is contrary to the will of Jehovah God! But through prayer we can and will be strengthen by God’s “Holy Spirit” (Romans 8:26,27).
It is Satan’s will (antichrist, arch enemy of Jehovah God) that all Christians fail and bring reproach on Jehovah God through willful sinning and disobedience. He and his kingdom of demons wage a relentless war against the followers of Christ through humans who opposes the word and will of God (Revelations 12:1-17).
Night and day Satan work tirelessly to destroy followers of Jesus Christ through persecution and death, but don’t worry we already have the victory over Satan and his kingdom of darkness through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (1Corinthian 15:56,57). Hallelujah!
For many of us doing what comes naturally is just, well-natural. But for Christians doing what comes naturally can prove to be detrimental in every way. Apostle Paul stated, “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21).
It is true that through Adam and Eve sin entered into the world and was passed on to all of their descendants (Genesis 3:1-21), but Jehovah God”s love for mankind was evident when He sent His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) into the world to become the “Sacrificial Lamb” whose blood would and did cleanse us from all sin (John 3:16). Through Jesus Christ redemptive work on the cross on Calvary Hill, all men can be saved and receive salvation-if they so desire (Acts 4:12).
Jesus Christ is still the way, truth and life that leads all men out of darkness (John 14:6). Jesus Christ is still calling out to a dying world just as He did over 2000 years ago when He walked the streets of Galilee and Judea preaching “repentance for the kingdom of God is near” (Matthew 4:17). Through His disciples and followers the word that Jesus tirelessly preached long ago is still being preached today with no less urgency.
In closing, it is imperative that we as Christians take our rightful stand as disciples of Christ and discontinue satisfying the cravings of the flesh: anger, lust, lack of self control and every other vise that is contrary to the word and will of Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We must cease to give in to unholy conduct that is a direct manifestation of the spirit of darkness. How can we expect to do what is pleasing before Jehovah God if we refuse to refrain from the sins of the flesh?
Christians who take a stand for what is right and follow the commands of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are truly soldiers of Jehovah’s holy army right here on earth. Remember what the Apostle Paul stated, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”?
Apostle Paul continues, “Therefore put on the whole armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one”.
“Take the helmet of salvation”, Apostle Paul went on to admonish the Christian congregation, “and the sword of the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6: 10-18).
If you once received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour but later returned to following Satan, but now choose to return to Christ, please pray with me; Holy Father, please forgive me for all the sins I have committed when I knew deep in my heart I was sinning and yet I continued to do so. Heavenly Father, have mercy on my soul and help me take my rightful stand as your servant and a disciple of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Holy Father, I humbly ask for forgiveness for my sins, and I pray Father do not take your “Holy Spirit” from me. Thank you gracious Father for restoring me once again. Hallelujah! Praise God. Amen.
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour then please take this time to do so without further delay. Jesus is always standing at the door of your heart humbly waiting for you to allow Him to come into your life and be your Lord and Saviour. Please pray with me: Father, I repent of all my sins and transgressions that I have ever committed in my life. I ask for forgiveness for all the wrong I have ever done before you and against you Father.
Wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb, your Son-Jesus Christ and cleanse me of all my unrighteousness and wickedness. Holy Father, this day, I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour for evermore and I pray that you will baptize me with your “Holy Spirit”. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
In Romans 10:9 it tells us if we confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved,” the Apostle Paul stated to the Christian congregation (Romans 10:11).
May the great God Jehovah, creator of heaven and earth and all that exist, and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ-the Son of God, keep you until we meet again. Thank you and Amen.

Note: Please understand that over time new revelations are given to me to pass on to all that take the time to read the articles/sermons that I post. Therefore, I believe it is imperative that I share these revelations to all who will listen.
In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.
The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
