February 6th, 2010 Stop “Wallowing In The Mire.” Now Get Up! Return To Christ Jesus.
You’ve received Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour; you’ve made a public/private declaration that you belong to Him. But over the course of time you have fallen into ungodly behavior; unholy conduct, and you’re also guilty of using profanity and gestures that are unbecoming a disciple of Christ Jesus. And to make matters worse you have become quite comfortable with the way you are, so you continue on with your madness (Proverbs 26:11).
Jesus Christ, the Son of Jehovah (Yahweh) God, came into the world to save sinners (John 3:16). Through His redemptive work that He did by becoming the “Sacrificial Lamb” that died on the cross for the sins of the world; mankind sins were atoned for and our relationship with Jehovah God was restored. It is the precious blood of Jesus that has washed our sins away (Matthew 26:28).
However, it is imperative that we pick up our cross and follow Jesus and abide by His teachings and the instructions He has given us. Jesus left us with commandments and precepts to follow in order for us to be pleasing to Jehovah God (our heavenly Father) in all that we do (John 14:15). For us to willfully and foolishly violate these commandments and instructions shows a lack of love for God the Father, our creator, and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins (2John :4).
“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God, all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace,” the Apostle Paul stated (Hebrews 6:4-6).
“Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,” the Apostle Peter stated (2Peter 1:10).
We cannot afford to live our lives as if we do not belong to Jesus Christ, if in fact we do. We cannot afford to turn back after being “Born Again” and receiving the precious gift of the Holy Spirit. And we cannot afford to grieve the Holy Spirit to the point of departure by living our lives in such an ungodly manner. That is why we must stop our madness and return to the one who has saved us from our sins through His death on the cross. Jesus is love (Ephesians 2:4,5) and He is still extending a warm and loving hand to fallen Christians who have become entrapped in their ungodly living and taken captive by Satan all over again (Luke 11:24-26).
Living your life straddling the fence is a very dangerous way to live. You are putting your soul in jeopardy of eternal damnation! Jesus said, “To the church in Loadicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth”.
Jesus went on to say,” you say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:14-21).
Jesus is standing at the door of your heart waiting for you to let Him in again, although you have left Jesus to return to your former way of living before receiving Him as your Lord and Saviour, He is still patiently waiting at the door of your heart for you to allow Him to come back in. Jesus is a very merciful and forgiving Saviour that wants you to return to Him.
Jesus said, “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent (Luke 15:3-7).
Jehovah God is love (1John 4:8), and He lovingly sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for our (mankind) sins. Jesus willingly endured the agonizing death on the cross for our sins and through His stripes (unmerciful beating) we were healed (1Peter 2:24). Jesus is such a longsuffering Saviour that continually reaches out to sinners with nothing but love.
It is not His desire that anyone be lost, but that all men be saved…and He continues to reach out to the lost; the unsaved, and the backsliders with loving arms that are ready to embrace the sinner and reunite with him.
Jesus stated, “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate. So he divided his property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
When he came to his senses, he said, ‘how many of my father’s hired men have food to spare, and here I am staving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men,’ so he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate’.
Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. ‘Your brother has come’, he replied, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ The older brother became very angry and refused to go in.
So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him.’
“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found’” (Luke 15: 1-32).
Just allow me to say this once more, Jesus is standing at the door of your heart waiting to receive you back into His loving embrace once again. Now is the time to turn your life around and allow Jesus to truly be your Lord and Saviour. Yes it’s true, you went back into the world to ‘wallow in the mire’, but Jesus is still extending a loving arm to embrace you and forgive you once again.
In conclusion, please accept this invitation to return to your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus paid the ultimate price for you and for me on Calvary Hill for the remission of our sins…and He is still saving souls today just as He did that glorious day on the cross. Come back before it is too late. Come back while the door of salvation is still open and a warm and gracious invitation is still being extended.
Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty, Jehovah God, creator of heaven and earth and all that is within it; I humbly bow down to ask for forgiveness for the sins and transgressions that I have committed even after receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I pray have mercy upon my soul and wash me again in the precious blood of the Lamb–Jesus Christ. I repent of all my sins and I seek to do your will Father. Amen.
God is love, and Jesus Christ is love too. Welcome home, with love.
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour now is a wonderful time to do so before it is too late. Jesus is always reaching out to the lost and damned who is shackled and bound by demonic forces. Please pray with me: Holy Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I fully denounce my old way of life and I ask that you wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and create in me a clean heart and give me your “Holy Spirit” to dwell within me for the rest of my life. I give my life to Christ from this moment onward. Thank you Father. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
The bible tells us that if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jehovah God raised Jesus Christ from the dead we shall be saved. Hallelujah! Praise God. You are now a new creature in Christ Jesus. Now pick up your cross and follow Jesus. Study the word of God without ceasing. Pray always, and seek to do God’s will. Amen.
May the grace of Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen

In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.
The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
