March 6th, 2010 The Battlefield: Take Your Stance and Stand Firm—In Jesus Name
“And there was war in heaven. Micheal and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan), and the dragon fought against his (Jesus) angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent (Genesis 1-24), called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him,” wrote the Apostle John (Revelation 12:7-9).
The Apostle John went on to write, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethen is cast down, which accused them before God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:7-17).
We are on a battlefield, the entire earth is a battlefield where we as disciples of Christ are locked in a life and death battle that extends far beyond a mere physical death. We are in a battle that will determine where we stand as soldiers and where we will spend eternity. Make no mistake about it, Satan has unleashed an all out attack against mankind, but especially against those who choose to follow Jesus Christ and walk according to Jehovah’s commandments.
We cannot afford to let our guard down for one moment because Satan is looking for an opportunity to slay us both spiritually and physically…and he will never, ever give up on that mission. His goal is to take us down physically and spiritually and silence us once and for all, and to lead us down the road of eternal damnation where we will be forever shut out from the love of Jehovah God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
To avoid such a terrible and frightening outcome you must repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today. Jesus is still calling out to the world to save them from their sins. Jesus died on the cross for the remission of our sins—not His. He gave His life up to save mankind from eternal damnation and everlasting destruction by atoning for our sins when He suffered the agonizing death on the cross…and through His stripes (beating) we are healed. Hallelujah!
It is imperative as soldiers of Jesus Christ that we stand firm in our mission as disciples of Christ. We must not allow ourselves to become entangled with the affairs of this world. Apostle Paul stated, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who has chosen him to be a soldier” (2Timonthy 2:4). We must live in this world but yet not be a part of it. We must remain steadfast and grounded in our true and only anchor, Jesus Christ.
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2Timothy 2:2). Taking the time to pursue other interests that you have not been led to do by God’s “Holy Spirit” can leave you vulnerable and wide open for satanic attacks that could result in your death—both spiritually and physically. That is why Apostle Paul admonished us to “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Apostle Paul went on to say, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”(Ephesians 5:11-18).
As soldiers in the army of Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we do not fight with assault weapons, hand guns, missiles, cannons, and chemical/biological warfare; instead, our only weapons are the ones Apostle Paul stated in the above paragraph. And we stand firm in Christ knowing that we have all we need in order to fight the good fight of faith if we hold to the doctrine we profess as Christians.
Any other weaponry that a Christian use outside of what Apostle Paul mention in the book of Ephesians, Chapter 5 verses 11-18, is of the devil. If you take up any other type of armor other than what Apostle Paul clearly stated that we should have—you are in opposition to God’s will.
As Christians even though we are to be bold in the Lord, yet we are to remain humble in our character, and humble in our spirit. We were commanded by Jesus to love our enemies and to pray for those who dispitefully use us (Matthew 5:44). We are to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there in no law (Galatians 5:22,23).
In conclusion, followers of Jesus Christ must take a stance against evil and the whole kingdom of darkness, if we are to remain in a righteous relationship with the Father and the Son. Each and every day we must put on the whole armor of God and prepare for battle…and remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against wickedness in high places, principalities, against powers…and against rulers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12).
Therefore we must pray without ceasing for strength, wisdom, understanding, and the courage to persevere even though fear might be raging inside of us. And we must pray for one another—daily. The bible tells us that the prayers of a righteous person availeth much (James 5:16). It is very important that you pray for me and that I pray for you and we all pray for each other. We must stand united in Christ if we are to please our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty Jehovah (Yahweh) God, guide your servants footsteps and help us to do your will. Father, help us to love one another regardless of our differences. And help us stand united in Christ as brethren. Holy Father, help us to fight the good fight of faith and remain steadfast on the battlefield even when we become worn and tattered from day to day fighting against the kingdom of darkness. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
If you have not already received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour He is standing at the door waiting—eagerly waiting for you to allow Him to come in and lead you into the light (John 14:6). Jesus gave His life for all of us sinners and it is His will as well as the Father’s will that all men (mankind) be saved and receive salvation. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour please pray with me: Holy Father I humble myself and I come before you to repent of my sins and transgressions that I have sinned against you Father.
Please forgive me of all my sins and wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb—Jesus Christ. Father I give my life to you and I pray that you will give me your “Holy Spirit” to guide me and teach all that I need to know to grow into a mature Christian; a useful vessel that can carry the most important cargo of all—the word of God. In Jesus name I pray amen.
The bible tells us if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Hallelujah! You are now a new creature (born again) in Jesus Christ. Now pick up your cross and begin to follow Jesus. Pray incessantly and study the word (Holy Scriptures) of God; pray to God that He will give you His Holy Spirit that will guide you into a more deeper and accurate understanding of His word and will.
I pray that Jehovah (Yahweh), the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob will draw you to His Son Jesus Christ (John 14:23), and I pray that you will walk upright before God until the triumphant return of His blessed Son Jesus Christ (1Thessalonians 14-18). Amen and amen.
If you once received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and confessed Him to others but turned back at some back at some point to follow Satan, please allow me the opportunity to invite you back to Jesus Christ today. Although you left Him to follow Satan, He never left you, you know why? Because He loves you unconditionally. Jesus is a merciful
and long suffering high priest that intercedes to the Father on our behalf all day long!
We are sinners and none of us can point a finger at one another because we all fall short of the glory of God.
Please pray with me: Holy Father, have mercy upon my soul and wash me again in the precious blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. I repent of all my sins and I want to return to my Lord and Saviour and pick up my cross and follow Jesus. Thank you Father God. Amen.

In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.
The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
