Finding Strength In Jehovah God Through His Son Jesus Christ

Who could ever forget the fun and enchanting television series “Bewitched” that ran from 1964-1972? What about all those much loved characters like Darrin Stephens (Dick York), Larry Tate (David/Daniel White), Aunt Clara (Marion Lorne), Endora (Agnes Moorehead), Mrs.Kravitts (Alice Pearce) and her husband Abner (George Tobias), and of course the beautiful and delectable Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery), the star of the show. Even today, the show still has a cult like following around the world.

Although it is now in syndication, the show continues to pick up new generation followers with the passing of time. I remember watching and waiting intensely to see Samantha twitch her nose and produce  yet another astounding feat. Before “Bewitched” I often thought of witches as ugly and gruesome, not beautiful and alluring—except for the good witch of the west—Glenda, she was in one of the most cherished and adored movies of all time, “The Wizard (witchcraft/sorcerer) Of Oz”. Other than those two I always visualized witches as being old and ugly with the ability to do you much harm; they frightened me and were the source of many nightmares in my childhood.

But thanks to Hollywood in part as well as some misguided authors, witchcraft and witches have been given some great public-relations and their membership numbers have soared ever since. There are many both males and females that proudly proclaim their status as  witches without any reservations whatsoever and the public at large seems to be fascinated with it to no end.

During Halloween there is never a shortage of people dressing up and attending social functions dressed as witches. The terms witch and warlock have become common words in many of our vocabularies thanks to television sitcoms and movies like the ones mentioned above. And you can be sure that with the favorable ratings these type of shows and movies have received there will certainly be more to follow.

But what does the word of Jehovah God say about witchcraft and those who practice it? How does Jehovah God Almighty view witches and witchcraft and what instructions, if any, does He give His people concerning this matter? Is it something that Jehovah God approves and should we all be witches and practice witchcraft if He does? Well, let’s find out through His “Holy Word” just how Jehovah feels about it and what are His instructions to us, if any, and what position are we to take regarding witchcraft?

“Do not allow a sorceress to live (Exodus 22:18). When you (Israelites) enter the land (promise land/Canaan) your God (Jehovah/Yahweh/YHWH) is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire; who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or cast spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices I will drive out those nations before you (Deuteronomy 18:9-12).

“He (King Manessah of Judah) sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger” (2Chronicles 33:6).”Have you come in peace, Jehu (captain of the army of Israel)”? ‘How can there be peace’, Jehu replied, ‘as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?’ (2Kings 9:22).

“I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells,” Jehovah exclaimed, “I will destroy your carved images and your sacred stones from among you” (Micah 5:12,13). “For rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you (the prophet Samuel announced to King Saul),” (1Samuel 15:23,24).

Witchcraft is a detestable practice before Jehovah God and all those that practice witchcraft in any way, shape or form is doing what is detestable before God. Jehovah (Yahweh) stated, I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people…”
“A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads” (Leviticus 20:6;27).

Witchcraft can be traced all the way back to its inception; back before the recording of time as we know it—even before the world became heavily populated witchcraft existed. Satan the devil is the father and founder of witchcraft. He was and still is the core source of witchcraft in all its various forms.

“Lucifer (morning star, light bringer) was once a beautiful angelic creature that resided in heaven: ‘You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until wickedness was found in you’, Jehovah God went on to say, ’so I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings’ ” (Ezekiel 28:12-17).

Lucifer, whose name was later changed to Satan (slanderer/adversary) was stripped of all his beauty and glory due to his corrupt and rebellious actions. He was not content to remain in the position that he held; instead, he chose to be worshiped as a god himself. He wanted all the angelic creatures in heaven to worship him as their god as oppose to worshiping their creator and true God Jehovah (Yahweh). It is Satan that is directly responsible for Adam and Eve disobeying God’s command and thereby bringing sin and death into the world (Genesis 3: 1-24).

He falsely accused God of lying to Adam when God told Adam that if he ate of the forbidden fruit, thereby violating God’s command, He would surely die (Genesis 2:15). When Satan addressed Eve (through a serpent) concerning eating the forbidden fruit he lied to Eve and seduced her into eating the fruit, and she in turn misled her husband Adam into eating the fruit as well (Genesis 3:1-6). Satan the devil is the father of lies (John 8:42-44), and it is through lies that he continues to go about deceiving the whole world.

Satan is the father of all evil, and he is the true source behind false religion and every evil concept that is and has ever been in existence. His own downfall has been an unceasing desire to be worshiped! He wants everyone to worship him and him alone…and he even tried to tempt Jesus Christ into falling down and worshiping him (Matthew 4:1-11). He has no limits when it comes to leading people into false worship.

Although false worship takes on many, many different forms and further extends itself through thousands of branches that continues to grow and multiply at astounding speed; in its convoluted labyrinth, false worship can without a doubt be traced back to its originator and father—Satan the devil.

Witchcraft is an old ancient practice where Satan has misguided so many people into false worship and damnable ideologies that violates Jehovah God’s commandments and statues since its inception. It is and has always been a religion that women seem to practice more than men. As a matter of fact, female practitioners are often referred to as witches, but not exclusively. Since its origin witchcraft has been used for a number of purposes, but it is never referred to by Jehovah God as bringing about good.

Practicing witchcraft puts the practitioner under the direct control of demonic spirits. These spirits are wicked and vile and they are a part of Satan’s wicked kingdom. Although there are many who profess to bring about good through their practice of witchcraft (white magic), Jehovah (Yahweh) has always forbidden His people to never get involved with witchcraft (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

Apostle Paul warned the congregation at Galatia, “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5: 19-21).

Whether it’s witchcraft, wicca, magic arts, divination, sorcery, palm reading, voodoo, hoodoo, satanism, or astrology; Satan is the true source behind it all, and he is intent on misleading the whole world down a path of eternal damnation much like he did with Adam and Eve. Because of their rebellious act against Jehovah God they were sentenced to death—both spiritually and physically (Genesis 2:15).

But out of love for mankind Jehovah immediately made possible a way for all men to receive salvation through His only begotten Son—Jesus Christ (Genesis 3:15; John 3:16). Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (Jehovah/Yahweh) except through me (John 14:6). Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. It is through His death on the cross that mankind has been redeemed from death and given a new birth in His name. It is through His death on the cross that mankind has received salvation and deliverance from the powers of darkness—Satan the devil and the legion of demons that follow him (Revelations 12: 7-12).

It is through Jesus Christ and the power that He wields that can deliver mankind from being chained and bound by the powers of darkness…and only Jesus Christ has the power to do this.

Witchcraft is darkness (wickedness), and it is directly linked to Satan the devil. For many it might appear innocent and kind of cute, but witchcraft is a dangerous and violent religion that ultimately yields death and eternal damnation for those who practice it and refuse to come out of it, and receive the one true source of life—Jesus Christ.

Through trickery and deceit Satan has misled millions upon millions who have chosen and continue to choose to practice witchcraft and other religions that are a direct manifestation of Satan. He is the epitome of evil and his sole purpose for existing is to curse and denounce Jehovah God and His loving plans for mankind, and to promote false worship and deceive the whole world into worshiping him in one way or another. It doesn’t really matter to Satan what form of false religion people choose to worship him in, as long as true worship is not given to the one true God—Jehovah (Yahweh).

In the book of Revelation Apostle John spoke of the harden hearts of the wicked that refused to repent of there sins: “The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts” (Revelation (20,21).

Witchcraft puts its practitioners under direct control of demons. It allows their soul to become demon possessed. Although it might appear to many that because they can receive information, knowledge, foreknowledge, and have incredible feats done on their behalf by demons that they really are in good hands, but the truth of the matter is there is no such thing as a good demon; however,  it is also true that some are more wicked than others (Luke 11:24-26), but in reality they are all very evil. And their number one objective is to lead you down a road of death and everlasting destruction without the possibility of forgiveness and salvation…and that too brings them laughter and joy to no end.

Witchcraft is from the pits of hell and it is the direct manifestation of wickedness and pure evil. Because of the way witchcraft has been presented as of late with beautiful actresses and handsome actors on the television and movie screen, it might appear to be a fun and friendly practice that is harmless and benign in nature. Who can resist a darling little child dressed up as a little witch? And what about little Tabitha on the television sitcom “Bewitched”? Wasn’t she just adorable to watch? How can anything be wrong with that?

One of Satan’s biggest ploy is to present evil in a cute and innocent way. He wants to give the impression that witchcraft is harmless and it is even practiced by little ones like Tabitha. Satan attempts to deceive the whole world into thinking that all witches are beautiful and friendly and they exist for good and righteousness. But that is far from the truth; however, this is the type of propaganda and false information that adherents of witchcraft try to present to the world. Evidently they have done a real good public relation job because witchcraft is viewed as a nonthreatening religion that has been embraced by millions and millions around the world…and their ranks continue to grow each and every day.

Does this make it right? Jesus said, “Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat” (Matthew 7:13). Make no mistake about it, as we approach the last days many will believe a lie and follow doctrines of demons (1Timonthy 4:1,2). In order to avoid falling victim to these sinister plans of Satan the devil, you must become grounded and rooted in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only name under heaven by which men can be saved (Acts 4:12), demons know this and they tremble (James 2:19).

If you are locked into witchcraft and are under demonic attacks you can be delivered and set free. There is no power on earth or under the earth that is more powerful than the word of God—Jesus Christ (John 1:1). You do not have to be afraid any longer, and you no longer have to live in fear of demonic reprisal (Luke 8:27-37).

Jesus is a loving and caring Saviour that will never turn anyone away that is searching for truth and direction (John 14:6). Jesus is love and He continues to call out to sinners that are living in darkness. Jesus stands at the door of your heart knocking. He humbly asks for you to allow Him to come into your life and be your Lord and Saviour.

Remember, it was this same Jesus that came down from heaven to die on the cross for your sins and mine. It was this same Jesus that was raised from the dead on the third day for the justification of our faith. Amen. If you are living outside of the saving grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ there is no reason for you to continue living in darkness. Jesus loves you and extends a warm and gracious invitation for you to come out of the storm—come out of darkness and receive rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:28). If you want Jesus to save you the bible tells us to confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, and believe in your heart; you shall be saved (Romans 10:9).

Please pray with me: Holy Father, in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I bow down in my heart and I sincerely ask for forgiveness for all the wrong I have done in my life. Holy Father, I come before you as humble as I know how to come and I pray that you forgive me for all of my sins and transgressions. Father, forgive me for worshiping demons and abiding by doctrine of demons. I pray Father this prayer in Jesus name. Amen.

Believe in your heart the words of this prayer and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31). Continue to pray using words from your heart and study the holy scriptures without ceasing, and ask Jehovah God to give you His “Holy Spirit” to guide you into a deeper and more accurate understanding of His word and will.

God is love (1John 4:8). It is Jehovah’s will that all men receive salvation and eternal life. It is not His will that anyone be locked in darkness and eternally damned. He wants all of us to have life and to have it more abundantly (John 10:10). This is why He sent His only begotten Son—Jesus Christ into the world to save sinners…and that includes all of mankind (John 3:16).

In conclusion, through deception and deceit Satan the devil has led mankind down a road of devastation and damnation. His goal is to see that all men die in their sins and alienated from the love of God due to their blindness of the truth. False religion has its origin in Satan the devil, he is the Father of false religion in its many forms and configurations, but make no mistake about it, he has and will always be exposed for who he is and what he is until the end of this world.

As a servant of the “Most High God”, it is my sincere wish that all of mankind—both male and female be set free from false worship that leads to everlasting destruction. Jesus Christ is the only way that leads mankind out of darkness into the light, for Jesus Christ truly is the light (John 14:7). Please accept this sermon as an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today— tomorrow may very well be too late.

Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty Jehovah God, I repent of all the sins I have committed after receiving Jesus Christ, as my Lord and Saviour. I crucified Jesus all over again with my willful sinning, all the while knowing that what I was doing was wrong. Father, have mercy upon my soul and deliver me from darkness. Please receive me back into the fold today, Father. I promise to pick up my cross and follow Jesus until the end.
Have mercy on my soul and wash me in the precious blood of the Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died on Calvary Hill, for the remission of sins for the whole world. Give me your “Holy Spirit” to guide me and lead me into doing your will. Thank you Father.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I pray for your soul and its safe keeping until the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Now you must be baptize and receive God’s “Holy Spirit”. Go in prayer ask God to guide you and instruct you on where to go to be baptize and He will do so. Pray without ceasing and study the word of God continuously. Amen.

The holy scriptures tells us that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead we will be saved (Romans 10:9). Now continue to pray that Jehovah God will lead you to a place of worship where you can be baptized and nurtured as a new Christian. Sturdy the bible and pray without ceasing; God will guide you and instruct you on doing His will. Hallelujah!

If you once received Jesus Christ but at some point returned to following Satan the devil, please accept this invitation to return to Jesus Christ. He is a loving and caring Saviour that is waiting patiently for you to invite Him back into your life. Jesus is love. God is love. Pray from deep within your soul and ask God for forgiveness for all the wrongs you have done.
