March 18th, 2010 Christians’ Persecution Throughout The World—Remain Strong Unto The End
Never before since the beginning of Christianity has so much opposition been leveled against Christianity as a religion, and against Christians who profess and follow this religion. Individuals, organizations, opposing religions, and even many governments around the world have mandates and manifestos that oppose the teaching, preaching, and the following of this religion.
Christians who dare to practice their beliefs in such hostile lands are often intimidated, imprisoned, physically beaten, unmercifully tortured, and in too many cases put to death simply because of their beliefs and practices. Many Christians are persecuted day and night without any legal recourse. Thousands have lost or had confiscated all of their worldly possessions, including homes and vehicles, as well as their life savings.
It’s not uncommon for Christians to be fired from their jobs without an explanation whatsoever. Some have had their businesses confiscated and illegally taken away from them without a reason. In many places Christians do not have the same protection under the law as their neighbors and fellow countrymen. And it is sad to say that because of such harsh and unfair treatment some Christians give in and give up.
Jesus stated to His disciples, “…then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:13).
As fellow Christians of our brethren who are undergoing persecution we must pray day and night; night and day for them-without ceasing. For us who are not experiencing such turbulent times as our brethren in hostile settings we must pray and reach out to them in every way that we can. Many of us have never known what it is to be under intense persecution because of our faith and many of us have never had to experience being denied food and shelter because of our faith, but there are many Christians around the world who have never known what it is like not to experience these hardships and difficulties.
But make no mistake about it not one act of ill will goes unnoticed by Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Not one tear that is shed by our brethren who are under persecution is shed in vain. “…these are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger, never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:14-17).
No suffering is in vain for Christians who have refused not to take a stand for their faith in Jesus Christ and Jehovah God Almighty. It is Satan the devil who has launched an all out attack against Christians and he knows that in just a short time his reign of terror will be over.
That is why he is waging a relentless war against God’s holy people and his objective is to make us give up in frustration and disappointment. He wants us to recant our faith and denounce Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. His goal is to see that we die in our sins far removed from the saving grace of our God Jehovah and His loving Son, Jesus Christ.
But don’t do it! Don’t allow yourselves to miss out on the wonderful blessings that God has in store for those who love Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. Stay strong even until the very end for God has not forgotten you nor is He reluctant to act on your behalf, remember this, all things work for the good of those who love the Lord-all things (Romans 8:28).
You might not understand why you are having to go through so much suffering and you might even be thinking of giving up to find some relief, but don’t do it. God is with you and He knows the depth of pain and suffering that is tearing you apart, but note this: you must remain faithful until the end.
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from His presence, and there was no place found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found in the book of life, he was thrown into the fire” (Revelation 20:15).
Continue to persevere in Christ and never, never give up. Jesus is with you although it might seem sometimes that you are all alone and forsaken, but you haven’t been forsaken or abandon at all. Jesus is there with you as you go through your ordeal(s). And there is truly a great reward for those who remain faithful unto the end-even until death.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no longer any sea. I saw the ‘Holy City’, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying pain, for the old order of things has passed away’ ” (Revelation 21:1-4).
For everyone that suffers and never give up there is a rich reward that God has prepared for them…and only them. There will be no reward for cowards; for those who did not stand up for their faith, and for those who abandon Christ when the going got tough (Revelation 21:8). Make no mistake about it you will be richly rewarded if you hold out until the very end. You can trust the word of God and you can definitely stand on it because the word of God is truth.
We as Christians must pray for each other and support one another without fail. Many of our brethren live in distance lands where they are subjected to cruel and menacing treatment from their fellow countrymen who do not believe in our God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
There are governments both international and national that object to the worship of Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and they have very little tolerance for those who do. That’s the very reason why we must pray for our brethren that live in countries that try to repress the worshiping of our God Jehovah and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Fellow believers continue to pray without ceasing for all our brethren especially for those who have been imprisoned and are held captive under harsh and inhumane conditions for the word of God. There are many who have been severely beaten and now suffer from medical conditions that are life threatening. They need our help both spiritually and financially. We must remember how Apostle Paul would take up collections from one congregation to distribute among the brethren who hardly had anything in other congregations (1Corithinians 16:1-3).
It’s imperative that we open up our hearts as well as our pocketbooks and wallets and give liberally to our brethren that really needs it. Take this matter to prayer and trust God in the name of Jesus Christ to direct you on who and where to give your financial gifts and I will do the same.
We all are aware of many so called brethren that make it their business to “steal in the name of our Lord”. So just be aware of those impostors and avoid giving them anything at all. For God will judge them at the appointed time, so don’t worry about that (Revelation 22:15).
In closing, let us bow down before Jehovah God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and pray sincerely for our brothers and sisters all over the world that are being persecuted for their faith and the word of God. Let us continue to reach out in love to every brother and sister that has taken a stand for the gospel. And remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6: 12).
The bible tells us that the prayers of a righteous person availeth much (James 5: 16). ” Is there any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord”.
James continues, “and the prayers offered will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayers of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5: 13-16).
Please pray with me: Heavenly Father, we come before you this evening asking in all humility that you will protect and comfort our brethren that are undergoing persecution even as we pray. Holy Father, watch over them and keep them in your loving arms. We know that as your servants Jesus said that if they persecuted Him they will also persecute us. So Father God strengthen us to help us endure all that we must endure as soldiers of the army of God. Father help us to love one another and to help each other regardless of our differences, for we are all one in Christ. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
Remember to pray for our brethren day and night and don’t allow complacency and a false since of security lead you away from praying for many of our brethren that have far less–materially speaking, and live far away in distant lands. We are one in Christ and we must love one another.
After all, “what good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed’, but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead’ “, James went on to say,
“But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds’. Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder” (James 2:14-19).
In conclusion, let’s reach into our hearts as well as our purses and wallets and give back to God what He has so lovingly given to us by helping His earthly servants that are unable to help themselves. Please open up your hearts today and pray in all sincerity for God to guide you into giving to our brethren that are without.
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, please accept this invitation to do so today-right now. Jesus is a merciful and loving Saviour that has been waiting patiently for you to allow Him to come into your heart. Jesus is love, that is why He died on the cross for the remission of our sins-not His. There is no other name under heaven whereby men can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Please pray with me: Holy Father, Almighty Jehovah God, creator of heaven and earth and all that’s in it. In the name of Jesus Christ, I repent of all my sins and transgressions that I have committed before you, Father. I seek forgiveness for all the wrong that I done in my life. Have mercy upon my soul and wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb-Jesus Christ. Cleanse me of all sin and wickedness, and give me your “Holy Spirit” to guide, counsel, and lead me into doing your will. Amen.
Now ask the Father to lead you to a place where you can be baptized and nurtured as a newborn Christian. Sincerely pray without ceasing, and study the word of God continuously. Remember, pray always.
If you once received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour But turned back to follow Satan, why not repent of your sins today, and seek forgiveness for crucifying Christ all over again? Jesus is merciful and long for you to return to Him. He is waiting patiently at the door of your heart for you to invite Him back into your heart.
Please pray with me: Heavenly Father, Almighty Jehovah God, forgive me for the sins and transgressions that I knowingly and willingly committed after receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Wash me in the precious blood of the Lamb, and cleanse me again of all sin. Renew a right spirit within me and deliver me from the clutches of darkness. Amen.
May the Great God Jehovah and our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ keep you until we meet again. Amen.
Note: Please understand that over time new revelations are given to me to pass on to all that take the time to read the articles/sermons that I post. Therefore, I believe it is imperative that I share these revelations to all who will listen.
In this article/sermon as with all my articles/sermons I use the name Jehovah when referring to the one true God, and I use the name Jesus Christ when referring to the Son of God. However, I want to set the record straight now, and correct this error.
The true historic name of the Father is “Yahawah” spoken in the ancient Hebrew tongue; Jehovah is a translation of that name. Jesus Christ is a modern day misinterpretation of the messiah “Yahawashi”. It is important that we learn to call upon the true name of the Father and the Son. Thank you.
